The Oxmoor 4x4 Buffer Amplifier is a compact, 4-channel audio signal processor that functions as a buffer, mixer, and distribution amplifier within a single 1U rack-mountable chassis. Any of the four inputs can be assigned to any combination of the four outputs, providing exceptional routing flexibility for sound reinforcement, broadcast, recording, and fixed-installation applications. Two independent mixing buses enable signal combination either before or after the gain stages, allowing the unit to serve as a zone mixer, line driver, or level-matching interface between consumer hi-fi equipment and professional audio systems.

The front panel features screwdriver-adjustable gain trim potentiometers providing ±15 dB of level adjustment per channel, which may be assigned to either inputs or outputs via internal configuration. All signal routing and operating modes are configured using internal jumper blocks rather than front-panel controls, preventing unauthorized tampering with system settings while still delivering complete operational flexibility. Input and output stages are electronically balanced via standard 3-pin XLR connectors, with the optional 4x4T version incorporating output isolation transformers for enhanced ground isolation and noise rejection.

For demanding professional environments, the 4x4 includes RF suppression circuitry to guard against radio-frequency interference, making it suitable for broadcast facility use.
