The Panasonic VariCam Top Handle (featured prominently on models like the VariCam 35 and VariCam LT) is a rugged, cinema-grade lifting grip and accessory mounting platform designed specifically to handle the heavy payloads of professional film production. Machined from solid, high-grade aluminum, it bolts securely directly to the camera's top plate. This provides camera operators with a rock-solid, ergonomically balanced grip for executing low-angle underslung shots, or simply for safely carrying a fully rigged, heavy camera system between setups.

Because cinematic camera rigs require extensive customization, the VariCam handle acts as a central distribution hub for essential accessories. The handle is heavily peppered with industry-standard 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 threaded mounting holes, allowing camera assistants to easily bolt on articulating friction arms, wireless video transmitters (like a Teradek), or timecode sync boxes. Most crucially, the front of the handle features an integrated, perpendicular 15mm rod clamp specifically positioned to support the adjustable mounting bracket for the VariCam's proprietary OLED Electronic Viewfinder (EVF).
