Panasonic VariCam Viewfinder Mounting Attachment w/ Screws

The Panasonic VariCam Viewfinder Mounting Attachment (often included alongside the AU-VCVF1G or AU-VCVF10G OLED viewfinders) is a specialized mechanical armature designed to securely bridge the camera's Electronic Viewfinder (EVF) to the camera body or top handle. Because a camera operator's eye-line changes drastically depending on whether the camera is mounted on a studio pedestal, resting on a shoulder pad, or operating low-to-the-ground, this bracket allows for rapid, multi-axis ergonomic adjustments.

The attachment typically utilizes a standard 15mm rod that slides directly into the dedicated perpendicular rod clamp built into the front of the VariCam's top handle. This allows the EVF to be extended horizontally away from the camera body. Built-in friction knuckles and tension thumbscrews allow the operator to adjust the tilt angle and the fore/aft position of the eyepiece entirely by hand. Because professional workflows demand absolute rigidity and fast reconfiguration, many camera assistants choose to swap the stock Panasonic attachment for heavy-duty aftermarket upgrades—such as the ARRI EVF Bracket for VariCam or the Wooden Camera UVF Mount—which introduce NATO rails and quick-release sleds for faster teardowns
