About the Polycom EagleEye Digital Extender w/ Polycom Camera Cable

The Polycom (now Poly) EagleEye Digital Extender is a two-part transmitter and receiver kit designed specifically to drastically extend the distance between Polycom's RealPresence Group Series video conferencing codecs and their high-definition peripheral cameras.

Because large corporate boardrooms, university lecture halls, and auditoriums frequently require the pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) camera to be mounted on a far wall or ceiling, standard heavy-duty Polycom HDCI camera cables are too short, bulky, and difficult to pull through tight conduit. The EagleEye Digital Extender solves this by converting the proprietary camera signal into an HDBaseT format. This allows the uncompressed 1080p video, two-way PTZ control data, and power to be pushed over a single, inexpensive run of standard Cat 5e or Cat 6 network cable.
