The Polycom HDX 9006 is a flagship, integrator-grade 2U rack-mountable video conferencing codec designed for massive corporate boardrooms, university auditoriums, and complex surgical theaters. Unlike standard all-in-one set-top systems that simply rest on a credenza under a television, the HDX 9006 is engineered strictly as a central processing engine to be wired deeply into a custom, professionally installed AV rack.

Because large-scale presentation spaces often rely on multiple robotic PTZ cameras, dedicated audio DSPs (like Biamp or ClearOne), and complex matrix switchers, the HDX 9006 ditches consumer-style connections in favor of heavy-duty BNC, HDCI, and Phoenix terminal block connectors. This allows AV integrators to securely route high-definition video, professional line-level audio, and custom RS-232 control signals from third-party automation systems (like AMX or Crestron) without the physical constraints or unreliability of standard consumer cabling.
