The Polycom HDX Ceiling Microphone Array is a key component for achieving superior audio quality in various applications, from large boardrooms and lecture halls to classrooms. The design goal is "out of sight, out of mind," with the microphone elements discreetly placed in the room and the electronics enclosure mounted above the ceiling tile. The array uses Polycom's Siren 22 audio codec for 22 kHz StereoSurround audio, delivering clear, crisp sound equivalent to Polycom's tabletop microphones.

360-degree Coverage: The array provides full 360-degree directional audio pickup using three cardioid elements spaced 120 degrees apart.
Wide Room Coverage: A single microphone array covers an area up to a 30-foot diameter or 700 square feet. Multiple arrays can be daisy-chained to cover larger spaces (up to 2,800 sq. ft. with two HDX arrays, or 1,600 sq. ft. with four Group Series/SoundStructure arrays).
Dynamic Microphone Steering: The system features a directional microphone beam that automatically points to the person speaking, ensuring the speaker's voice is clearly captured.
Advanced Audio Processing: It integrates seamlessly with Polycom HDX and SoundStructure systems to provide full-duplex digital audio with advanced features like Instant Adaptation Echo Cancellation, Automatic Noise Suppression (ANS), and Automatic Gain Control (AGC).
Acoustic Fence Technology: When used with RealPresence Group Series systems, it can utilize Acoustic Fence technology to create a virtual boundary in open workspaces, isolating sound capture within that area and attenuating distracting noises from outside the "fence".
