Polycom White Primary Ceiling Microphone w/ Microphone Array

The Polycom Ceiling Microphone Array (Primary Kit) is a premium, suspended audio solution designed to integrate with Polycom RealPresence Group Series, HDX, and SoundStructure video conferencing systems. Dropping down from a standard drop-tile ceiling, it clears the boardroom table of messy cables and hardware while providing exceptional, room-filling voice pickup. Inside the distinctive spherical housing are three separate cardioid microphone elements arranged to provide seamless 360-degree coverage, capable of picking up conversational-level voices in a 24-foot diameter radius.

The "Primary" designation is critical in Polycom's ecosystem. A Primary kit includes not only the spherical microphone array itself, but also the main ceiling-mounted electronics enclosure and the long plenum-rated cable required to run back to the video codec's C-Link (Walta) port. Once a Primary microphone is installed, you can easily expand coverage in large boardrooms by daisy-chaining up to three additional "Extension" ceiling microphones directly into the Primary unit's enclosure, without needing to run separate home-run cables back to the codec.
