Unlike tripod-style stands whose wide legs can easily become a tripping hazard on small, crowded stages, the MS235BK utilizes a heavy, low-profile cast-iron round base. This design keeps the stand firmly anchored to the floor while drastically reducing its physical footprint, making it ideal for lead vocalists who need to stand right up against a stage monitor or for dense studio tracking rooms.

The stand features a durable two-piece steel tubular shaft that is adjusted via a robust center twist clutch. This allows performers to quickly dial in the height from a sitting position (around 36 inches) all the way up to a comfortable standing height (60 inches) with a simple twist of the wrist. The top of the shaft is machined with an industry-standard 5/8"-27 thread, ensuring immediate compatibility with almost any microphone clip, shock mount, or aftermarket boom arm extension.
