QSC Q-SYS Core 500i Integrated System Processor

$0.00

The QSC Q-SYS Core 500i Integrated System Processor was a robust and flexible integrated audio, video, and control system for a wide range of installed AV applications. It was a central processing unit (CPU) for the Q-SYS ecosystem, designed for venues such as auditoriums, large conference rooms, hospitality spaces, and stadiums. The Core 500i offered a powerful, IT-centric approach to AV processing, running on standard Intel microprocessors and a customized Linux operating system. It was capable of directly accommodating eight Q-SYS I/O cards, providing onboard channel capacity and allowing for further expansion with additional Q-SYS peripherals. This product has been discontinued and superseded by newer Q-SYS Core processors.

About the QSC Q-SYS Core 500i Integrated System Processor

The Q-SYS Core 500i is a compact, all-in-one integrated system processor designed to serve as the central brain for small to medium-scale audio, video, and control installations within the Q-SYS ecosystem. It combines a powerful DSP engine, a 4x4 HDMI video switcher with scaling, and a control processor into a single, sleek tabletop or rack-mountable unit, dramatically simplifying system design for spaces like conference rooms, classrooms, courtrooms, and hospitality suites. The Core 500i manages all audio routing, mixing, and processing—including AEC (Acoustic Echo Cancellation), ducking, and equalization—while simultaneously handling video switching, scaling to a common output resolution, and executing control scripts to automate room functions like display power, lighting, and shades. This convergence of functionalities eliminates the need for multiple separate hardware devices, reducing complexity, cost, and points of failure.

A standout feature is its native integration of a 4x4 HDMI 1.4 matrix switcher with advanced scaling capabilities, allowing any input to be routed to any output, with each output independently scaled to match the native resolution of its connected display up to 1080p. This is managed seamlessly within the same Q-SYS Designer software used for audio and control, providing a unified design environment. The processor supports a substantial number of audio channels, enabling the integration of built-in and external microphones, program audio, and paging systems, all with pristine 24-bit/96 kHz audio quality. Its flexible I/O includes both network-based audio via Q-LAN and a selection of onboard analog and digital connections, offering a comprehensive starting point for most typical installations.

Designed for reliability and ease of use, the Core 500i operates silently with fanless cooling and features redundant network ports for robust system connectivity. It is managed entirely through the intuitive, drag-and-drop Q-SYS Designer software, which allows integrators to design, simulate, and deploy complete systems from a single platform. By packaging professional-grade DSP, video switching, and control into a single, accessible device, the Q-SYS Core 500i empowers integrators to deliver sophisticated, automated, and high-performance AV solutions with streamlined installation and exceptional end-user experience.
