QSC Q-SYS I/O-22 Multipurpose I/O Peripheral

$169.10 - $338.19

The QSC Q-SYS I/O-22 is a compact, network-enabled I/O peripheral that provides a versatile array of audio and control connectivity points to a Q-SYS system. It is ideal for installations where audio sources and destinations, such as in meeting rooms or classrooms, are physically distributed. The I/O-22 is a sophisticated network device that converts local analog audio inputs into digital signals to be processed by the central Q-SYS Core processor over a standard Gigabit Ethernet network (Q-LAN), and converts digital audio from the Core back to analog for local use. The compact unit can be powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE) or an auxiliary 24 VDC power supply, allowing for flexible, hideaway mounting locations using the included bracket. In addition to two mic/line inputs with phantom power and two line outputs, it features a small onboard 9-watt amplifier to drive a local monitor speaker, scriptable RS-232, and General Purpose Input/Output (GPIO) ports for control of third-party devices like lighting or video systems.

About the QSC Q-SYS I/O-22 Multipurpose I/O Peripheral

The QSC Q-SYS I/O-22 is a versatile, networked input/output peripheral designed for the Q-SYS ecosystem, a software-based audio, video, and control platform. It serves as a compact, flexible interface for bringing analog and digital audio signals into and out of the Q-SYS Core processor over a standard Ethernet network. The unit provides two programmable analog inputs and two programmable analog outputs, which can be configured as either microphone/line-level inputs with phantom power or as line-level outputs, offering adaptability for various connection needs such as connecting microphones, line-level sources, or driving amplifiers. Its network-based operation eliminates the need for long, dedicated audio cable runs back to a central processor rack, as it can be placed locally near sound sources or destinations and connected via a single CAT cable, simplifying system design and reducing installation costs.

Engineered for reliability and seamless integration, the I/O-22 is powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE), further reducing wiring complexity. It features high-quality analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters, ensuring pristine audio fidelity that meets the professional standards of the Q-SYS platform. Configuration and routing of its inputs and outputs are performed entirely within the Q-SYS Designer software, where they appear as resources that can be patched into any signal path within the system design, whether for audio mixing, processing, or control. This makes it an ideal solution for distributing audio endpoints in distributed systems like corporate campuses, hotels, schools, and houses of worship, where audio needs to be captured or delivered in multiple remote locations.

The value of the I/O-22 lies in its role as a fundamental building block for scalable, network-based audio systems. It extends the reach and flexibility of a Q-SYS Core, allowing designers to create decentralized audio networks with high performance and centralized control. For integrators, it means cleaner installations with less conduit and lower labor costs. For end-users, it ensures high-quality audio is available exactly where it's needed, all managed from a single, intuitive software interface. The I/O-22 exemplifies the shift in professional AV toward flexible, software-defined architectures, providing a reliable and cost-effective I/O solution for modern networked environments.
