Description

The Rane Commercial DA216S Distribution Amplifier is a two-input, sixteen-output splitter/distribution amplifier, well suited for retail, restaurants, clubs, malls, schools, houses of worship, and more. Inputs can either be mic or line sources allowing for background music and/or announcements. Each of the sixteen outputs can reference inputs A, B or A&B via front panel switches. Input and output levels are individually adjusted via the front panel screwdriver controls. The rear panel allows for a variety of gain setting for both mic and line inputs. The phantom-power switch provides +15 VDC of power for condenser microphones. Each output stage incorporates a high-current balanced output line driver for driving long lines with optimal performance. Euroblock wire range is #14 to #26 stranded or solid. The Rane DA216S ships with a power cord and incorporates a 100-240 VAC internal universal voltage power supply, operable nearly anywhere in the world. Read more

About the Rane DA216S Audio Distribution Amplifier

The Rane DA216S is a professional, 1U rack-mountable audio distribution amplifier (often called a press box or splitter) designed to take one or two audio signals and seamlessly distribute them to up to sixteen separate destinations. It is a staple in commercial AV racks, frequently used to route a single microphone or mixing console feed to multiple isolated speaker zones in restaurants, retail spaces, houses of worship, or to multiple recording devices at press conferences.

Because installed sound systems often require highly permanent, secure wiring, the DA216S completely eschews standard XLR or 1/4-inch jacks in favor of heavy-duty, 3-pin Euroblock (Phoenix-style) terminal connectors on the rear panel. It is incredibly flexible in its routing; it features two main inputs (A and B) and sixteen discrete outputs. Via simple front-panel slide switches, any of the 16 outputs can be assigned to receive audio from Input A, Input B, or a combined mono mix of both (A+B). To prevent unauthorized tampering in public venues, all volume adjustments on the front panel require a small flathead screwdriver.
