RME AO4S-AIO Analog Output Expansion Board

$0.00

The AO4S-192 from RME is an analog expansion board that adds 4 professional quality analog outputs to the company's HDSPe AIO PCIe card. Level adjustment, balanced circuit design, 118dBA signal to noise ratio, and the highest level of PC-noise suppression guarantee perfect sound quality. The converters offer the same performance as the on-board stereo analog I/O of the HDSPe AIO - up to 192 kHz resolution, balanced connection, and the choice of 3 different reference levels, selected in the settings dialog. The expansion board can be used with the HDSPe AIO and the HDSP 9632 to provide a maximum of 6 channels of audio output when combined with the 2 channels of I/O available on the main board. However, no more than one AO4S-192 AIO can be connected to each card, although a combination of an input and output card is possible.

About the RME AO4S-AIO Analog Output Expansion Board

The RME AO4S-AIO is an analog output expansion board designed to integrate seamlessly with compatible RME audio interfaces, such as those in the HDSPe series for PCIe slots or the RayDAT, to add four channels of high-quality analog output. This board is engineered for professionals who need to expand the analog output capabilities of their RME system for applications like multi-channel monitoring, surround sound setups, or connecting to additional external processors and recorders. It utilizes RME's premium analog circuitry, including high-performance digital-to-analog converters (DACs) and discrete output stages, to deliver transparent, low-noise, and low-distortion audio that matches the renowned quality of RME's core interfaces. The board connects directly to the host card via an internal digital bus, ensuring low-latency, stable communication without occupying external computer ports.

The AO4S-AIO provides four balanced analog outputs on DB-25 connectors, which is a standard multi-channel analog interface in professional audio environments. These outputs can be configured via RME's comprehensive driver software and mixer application (TotalMix FX) to route any digital audio channel from the computer or internal mixer to these physical outputs with full flexibility. Each channel supports a wide dynamic range and is capable of driving both professional studio gear and consumer equipment. The expansion is particularly valuable in complex studio setups requiring numerous discrete outputs for speaker management systems, analog summing, or sending cues to multiple headphone amplifiers.

Designed for reliability and seamless integration, the board is built with high-quality components and is backed by RME's robust driver support for macOS and Windows. Installation involves inserting the board into a dedicated slot on the compatible host card and connecting the internal ribbon cable. By offering a modular and high-fidelity expansion path, the RME AO4S-AIO allows users to scale their analog I/O in a cost-effective manner while maintaining the stellar audio performance and rock-solid stability that are hallmarks of the RME brand. It is an ideal solution for engineers and producers whose output needs have grown beyond their interface's built-in capabilities.
