RME DTOX32 Dual Set of 25-Pin D-Sub to 4 XLR Male and 4 XLR Female Breakout Panel

$399.00

The DTOX32 is built for seamless integration with multichannel audio interfaces, particularly those from RME that use D-sub connections for AES/EBU digital audio. The front panel features a total of 16 XLR connectors, with eight inputs and eight outputs clearly marked and arranged for easy patching. On the rear of the unit are two 25-pin D-sub connectors, which consolidate the 16 XLR channels into a clean, single-cable-per-connector interface.
A key feature of the DTOX32 is its switchable pinout standards. It is compatible with both the Tascam (the RME default) and Yamaha pinout formats, allowing it to work with a wide range of professional audio equipment. The pinout format can be easily changed by adjusting an internal connector within the panel. The unit includes removable rack-mount brackets that can be mounted in either a front or rear position, offering flexible installation options to suit different studio or live sound setups.

About the RME DTOX32 Dual Set of 25-Pin D-Sub to 4 XLR Male and 4 XLR Female Breakout Panel

The RME DTOX32 is a professional, dual-channel breakout panel designed to provide a reliable and organized interface for converting the 25-pin D-Sub analog audio outputs commonly found on high-end audio interfaces and stage boxes into standard, balanced XLR connections. This unit is specifically engineered to facilitate the connection of studio monitor speakers, power amplifiers, outboard processing gear, or any balanced line-level audio equipment to interface units that utilize the space-efficient but less common D-Sub output format. Each of the two independent panels routes eight channels of audio: four channels are terminated as XLR male connectors, typically used for outputs from the interface to destinations like powered speakers, while the other four channels are terminated as XLR female connectors, commonly used for returning signals or connecting to different input destinations, offering immediate flexibility in a patch bay style.

Constructed with the high standards typical of professional studio and broadcast equipment, the DTOX32 features a robust metal housing and utilizes premium components to ensure signal integrity, minimize noise, and provide secure, durable connections. The labeling is clear and permanent, with each XLR port corresponding to a specific channel number from the D-Sub connector, eliminating guesswork and potential patching errors during setup in critical environments. The internal wiring follows professional balanced audio standards, maintaining proper pin configuration and grounding to prevent hum and interference.

This breakout solution is an essential accessory for users of multi-channel audio interfaces, AD/DA converters, and digital mixing systems that employ D-Sub connectors for their analog I/O, effectively bridging the gap between the compact, multi-channel world of computer-based audio and the standardized, rugged connectivity of the professional audio ecosystem. It simplifies cabling, improves workflow efficiency, and ensures a clean, professional installation in recording studios, post-production facilities, live sound racks, and broadcast mobile units.
