The Roland V-800HD is a professional multi-format live video switcher engineered to provide exceptional flexibility for events and installations requiring connectivity from virtually any source type. It features eight mixing channels fed by sixteen physical inputs, including four 3G/HD/SD-SDI, four composite, four DVI-I/HDMI, and four RGB/component connections. A defining characteristic is its true multi-format architecture, where every input is equipped with its own broadcast-quality scaler and frame synchronizer. This eliminates the need to match source formats to the output resolution, as each input can independently scale, stretch, crop, and zoom its video to fit any chosen output format up to 1080/60p and WUXGA. Designed for sophisticated production workflows, the V-800HD utilizes 4:4:4/10-bit internal signal processing to maintain the highest fidelity for RGB computer sources and HD video. It includes a powerful key-compositing engine with chroma key adjustments based on HSV color space and supports external keying for CG titles and complex overlays. A dedicated multi-viewer output via HDMI allows simultaneous monitoring of all input sources alongside Program and Preview feeds on a single screen.
