The SG series 15KVA 220V to 380V Three-Phase Auto Transformer is a heavy-duty, dry-type step-up electrical transformer heavily utilized in industrial and commercial facilities. It is most commonly deployed when a facility only has standard 220V (or 208V/240V depending on the exact tap) three-phase power available, but needs to operate imported European or heavy industrial machinery that strictly requires a 380V three-phase power supply.

Because it is an auto-transformer rather than an isolation transformer, the primary (input) and secondary (output) circuits physically share a single, continuous copper or aluminum winding. This shared-winding architecture makes the unit significantly smaller, lighter, and more cost-effective than a traditional isolation transformer, while operating at a higher electrical efficiency. However, it also means there is no galvanic isolation between the mains power and the connected load.
