About the Sony AC-940W AC Adapter

The Sony AC-940W is a professional-grade AC power adapter designed specifically to provide continuous, reliable mains power to Sony's compact broadcast and production monitors, most notably the LMD-940W 9-inch LCD and the PVM-740/PVM-741 Trimaster EL OLED monitors.

Because professional ENG (Electronic News Gathering) monitors are frequently used in the field, they are natively designed to run on DC power via large V-Mount camera batteries. However, when these monitors are permanently mounted in an OB (Outside Broadcast) truck, a studio control room, or on a colorist's desk, constantly charging and swapping batteries is highly impractical. The AC-940W solves this by converting standard AC wall power into clean 12V DC power. It integrates directly into the monitor's power ecosystem, allowing for uninterrupted operation during long editing sessions or live studio broadcasts.
