The Sony CCU-TX50 is a professional Camera Control Unit (CCU) engineered for studio and field production as part of a triax-based system. Designed to work with Sony DXC-D50 series cameras via the CA-TX50 Camera Adaptor, this unit serves as a base station that provides comprehensive remote control over picture parameters including color, contrast, gain, shutter, and menu settings. Its compact 3U half-rack design makes it suitable for both portable operations and permanent rack-mounted installations, with the ability to mount two units side-by-side using optional rack brackets.

The CCU-TX50 excels in long-distance signal transmission, utilizing triaxial cable to transfer wideband component video, audio, intercom, tally, and teleprompter signals over distances up to 750 meters with 8.5mm cable or 1,125-1,500 meters with larger diameter cables. The front control panel provides direct access to operational functions including master gamma, detail, white/black balance, and shutter controls, while rear-panel connectivity includes REFERENCE input, multiple return video inputs (RET-1/2/3), PROMPTER, and comprehensive output options including three SDI outputs (with optional board), component video, composite, and PIX/WF monitoring outputs. Built-in self-diagnostics display status and error information on a connected picture monitor, and the unit supports remote control panels like the RCP-D50 for studio desk operation.
