The Sony HDVF-20A is a professional 2-inch black-and-white CRT electronic viewfinder engineered for critical focusing and framing in high-definition studio and field production. Featuring a high-resolution CRT delivering 500 TV lines of horizontal resolution at the screen center, this viewfinder provides exceptional detail necessary for discerning focus in HD productions. The multi-scan design supports a wide range of video formats including 1080/23.98PsF, 24PsF, 25PsF, 30PsF, 50i, and 60i, along with 1035i formats, ensuring compatibility with various HD cameras and production workflows. Designed for professional ergonomics, the HDVF-20A incorporates comprehensive front-panel controls including PEAKING for sharpness adjustment, CONTRAST and BRIGHT for screen optimization, and a ZEBRA switch with MOMENT function for exposure assistance. The detachable eyepiece allows direct viewing of the CRT screen and simplifies cleaning of the mirror and protective filter. Dual tally indicators—one on the front for camera operators and one on the body visible from the side—provide clear recording status at all times, with adjustable brightness via the TALLY switch.
