It features an 8.9-megapixel effective Super 35mm CMOS sensor that delivers an impressive 14 stops of dynamic range, enabling filmlike rendering of highlights and shadows. The camera natively supports 4K, QFHD, 2K, and HD recording, making it suitable for a wide range of applications from documentaries and music promos to electronic news gathering and episodic television production.

The F5 offers remarkable flexibility through its modular design and extensive recording options. Internal recording onto SxS PRO+ memory cards supports XAVC, MPEG HD, and MPEG4 SStP formats, while optional external recorders like the AXS-R7 enable RAW capture at high frame rates up to 240 fps in 2K.
