Description
The Soundweb London BLU-BOB2 from BSS Audio is a dedicated 8-channel analog output expander, engineered to seamlessly integrate with the high-bandwidth, fault-tolerant digital audio bus of the Soundweb London family. Functioning as a "break-out box," its primary purpose is to provide a straightforward and cost-effective means of adding eight analog line-level outputs to a digital signal processing system. This allows installers to place analog outputs remotely from the main DSP processor, conveniently near amplifiers and other analog equipment, without the need for a fully-featured I/O unit. Designed for simplicity and reliability, the BLU-BOB2 features a straightforward configuration method. Unlike other Soundweb devices, its output channel assignments are set not by software, but by a set of six DIP switches on the rear panel, which select any consecutive block of eight channels from the 256 available on the digital audio bus. Housed in a standard 19-inch, 1RU chassis, it includes clear front-panel LEDs for monitoring signal presence and power status. The unit is powered by an included 12V DC external adapter and uses secure, removable terminal block connectors for all analog audio connections. The expander connects to the Soundweb London bus via standard CAT5e cabling, supporting distances up to 100m, extendable to over 10km with the optional BSS MC-1 fiber optic media converter. Read more
