About the Tiffen Ser.9 Warm Pro-Mist 1/4 Lens Filter

The Tiffen Series 9 Warm Pro-Mist 1/4 is a professional-grade diffusion and color-warming filter designed to soften modern optical sharpness while simultaneously imparting a pleasant, golden glow to the image. As an unthreaded Series 9 filter (measuring 3.25 inches in diameter), it is designed to be dropped directly into a matte box tray, lens hood, or a dedicated Series 9 retaining ring.

Because modern digital cinema sensors and high-end lenses often produce an overly clinical, hyper-sharp image that highlights every skin blemish and renders complexions with a cold, sterile tone, cinematographers require in-camera filtration to take the digital edge off. The Warm Pro-Mist solves this by combining Tiffen's classic Pro-Mist diffusion (which blooms highlights and reduces contrast) with their exclusive 812 warming filter. This combination instantly brings life and natural warmth back into actors' faces while providing a classic, filmic look.
