The TFC-1000S20 is an intelligent fiber media converter from TRENDnet's TFC series, designed for network expansion in demanding enterprise or industrial environments. The converter provides a 1000Base-T RJ-45 copper port and a 1000Base-LX SC-type single-mode fiber port, supporting full-duplex gigabit connections at wire speed. A key feature is its "intelligent" capability, allowing for port-level SNMP management when installed in the TFC-1600 chassis with the appropriate management module.

It also supports Link Loss Carry Forward (LLCF) and Link Loss Return (LLR) functions via dip switches, which aid in network troubleshooting by passing link status information between the copper and fiber connections. The converter is compliant with IEEE 802.3ab and 802.3z standards and uses a 1300nm wavelength to transmit data over single-mode fiber up to 20 km.
