About the Williams Sound R863 Personal FM Listening Receiver (European Frequency 863MHz)

The Williams Sound R863 (now supported under Williams AV) is a portable, 3-channel personal FM receiver engineered specifically for the European market to operate within the 863 MHz to 865 MHz radio frequency band. It is predominantly deployed in assistive listening setups, simultaneous language interpretation, and guided tour systems.

Because standard PA systems in large lecture halls, houses of worship, or echoing factory floors suffer from severe acoustic degradation, hard-of-hearing individuals often struggle to isolate the primary speaker's voice. The R863 solves this by capturing a direct, crystal-clear FM audio transmission from a matching Williams Sound transmitter (like the portable T863 body-pack or T800 base station) and delivering it straight to the user's headphones or hearing aid neckloop.
