The Wohler VM-4 is a specialized 1RU rackmount analog audio monitor designed specifically for voice quality confidence monitoring in broadcast facilities, OB (Outside Broadcast) mobile trucks, and production intercom racks. It allows technicians to actively monitor up to four independent analog audio feeds simultaneously without taking up excessive rack space.

Because live production environments often involve multiple complex communication lines—such as director intercoms, IFB (Interruptible Foldback) feeds, and isolated camera mic channels—engineers cannot rely on a standard stereo monitor to track everything at once. The VM-4 solves this by packing four completely discrete audio channels, each with its own dedicated amplifier, speaker, and volume control, into a highly compact 1.75-inch chassis. This allows an operator to instantly hear exactly which line is active and adjust the mix on the fly.
