The Crestron CLX-2DIM8 is an eight-channel, two-feed dimmer module designed as an integral component of a complete Crestron Green Light centralized lighting control system for residential and commercial 120V applications. Installed in a CAEN or CAEN-MLO wall-mount automation enclosure, this module provides precise forward phase (leading edge) dimming for a variety of lighting load types including incandescent, magnetic low-voltage, neon/cold cathode, and 2-wire dimmable fluorescent fixtures. The dual feed capability provides two independent four-channel dimmers within a single module space, offering exceptional flexibility for zone-based lighting design while conserving valuable enclosure capacity.

Each output channel is rated for 1920 Watts (16 Amps), with a total module rating of 3840 Watts (32 Amps) when fed from two separate 20 Amp feeds. A key feature for safety and maintenance is the inclusion of air-gap relays on every channel output, allowing individual circuits to be serviced without disabling the entire module. Low-maintenance convection cooling with oversized heat sinks ensures quiet, trouble-free operation with no mechanical components to wear out. An override feature allows each channel to be set to a preset state, which can be activated globally via a simple contact closure if Cresnet communications are ever disrupted, ensuring lights can always be controlled.

The CLX-2DIM8 interfaces with Crestron control systems via Cresnet, a simple 4-wire network bus that provides the communications backbone for a system of Crestron lighting dimmers, switches, keypads, shades, and other devices. The module is UL 924 and CSA C22.2 No. 141-15 listed for use in controlling emergency lighting loads; in the event of a power failure, a contact closure from a power loss sensor activates override mode to turn on designated lighting loads. Customizable dimming curves are available via software, and the module is CEC Title 24 2013 compliant. High-voltage termination requires the CLT-2DIM8 terminal block (sold separately), which allows wiring to be completed prior to module installation.
