The Tiffen 105C Black Pro-Mist 1 is a professional-grade optical filter designed to create a distinctive, cinematic look by subtly softening excess sharpness and reducing contrast in video and still photography. Engineered with Tiffen's proprietary ColorCore technology, this 105mm filter features a coarse thread pitch that helps prevent cross-threading when mounting on large-diameter cine-style lenses. The Grade 1 density provides a noticeable diffusion effect, smoothing facial wrinkles and blemishes while generating a pearlescent halo around highlights, yet unlike traditional soft focus filters, it retains critical image detail and sharpness.

Ideal for portrait, fashion, and motion picture applications, the Black Pro-Mist 1 filter reduces highlight values and lowers overall contrast to create a soft, pastel-like quality of light without the color shift associated with warming filters. Constructed from high-quality optical glass laminated between precision-ground flats, the filter maintains optical clarity while the black anodized aluminum ring remains durable yet lightweight. The 105mm front accessory threads allow for stacking additional filters when needed, and the included soft pouch provides safe storage and protection when not in use.
